The Rimax Security Camera and Recorder is a compact CCTV system for the home or small business. Comprising of a portable colour monitor and flexible mount camera, this product offers features only normally found on much more expensive systems. As well as real-time viewing, the monitor offers the facility of recording what is being seen. These recordings can then be used to provide evidence of criminal activity.
For ease of use both the camera and monitor are supplied with rechargeable batteries (although they can also be mains powered). As the system is completely wireless there are no cables connecting the camera to the monitor. This gives you complete freedom in where to position them within a range of 100m (distance is reduced by the number of walls and ceiling the signal must travel through).
Recording can either take place on the internal memory of the monitor or on an SD Card (not supplied) that can be inserted into the top of the device. A USB port allows quick and easy connection to a PC in order to view the recorded images. Alternatively the SD card can be removed from the monitor and viewed independently.
The camera can be mounted in a number of ways; on a tabletop, wall mounted or, using the included velcro strap, attached to any pole, arm or other device. It will also work in low light although we would recommend the use of a motion-activated light for areas of darkness.
The monitor comes with its own charging cradle which can also be used to support it on a table. Alternatively there is a foldaway rear bracket which can also be used to support the monitor. Included is software inside the monitor which is used to control its various features. For example you can choose to record when motion is detected by the camera; to record at the same time each day (or any other specified period); or to manually control the recording (by pressing a button of the front of the monitor). When recording starts an audible alert is heard.
